Sonlight Children’s Ministry at Calvary Community Church is committed to ministering to children in effective ways that connect their hearts to the heart of God. At CCC we provide the means for children to connect with God through a variety of programs.

Weekly Service Opportunities
SonRise ministers to children from Birth to approximately 24 months. All those who volunteer with babies must be 18 years or older. Our ratio goal is 1 worker per 2-3 babies
SonShine ministers to 2 and 3 year old children. Each week the class is overseen by an adult volunteer who is usually the teacher and is assisted by 3 additional people. The ratio goal is 1 worker per 3-4 children
Sonbeams ministers to 4 year old children. Each week the class is overseen by an adult volunteer who is usually the teacher and assisted by 2 additional people. The ratio goal is 1 worker per 8 children.
Solar Jam ministers to children in grades Kindergarten to 6. At 10:00 am, the children meet as one large group for Assembly. Here they have a time of Worship which includes prayer, singing, scripture memory and offering. At approximately 10:30 they are dismissed into small groups -- SonRays, Grade One, Grade Two, Grade 3-4 and Grade 5-6
Registration and Security ensures that your children are accounted for and kept safe at all times. All adult volunteers require security screening which includes a police check and application process.
Support ministers through the preparation and care of materials for the Sunday morning gatherings, leading worship in Assemblies, Substitute teaching, Facility decorating, special event planning and volunteering, Summer Camps, etc
Summer Camps minister to a wide variety of children from preschool to grade 6 for a week in the summer.
Celebration/Outreach Events are stand alone times of ministry like the Church Picnic, the Fall Kick-Off, the Spring Carnival, the Family Fall Festival.
Junior Assistants are youth between the ages of 12 and 18 who regularly assist in Children’s Ministry in a variety of roles. They are being encouraged and trained to be the future teachers and adult Volunteers within the church family.
Junior Volunteers meet 3 times a year for J.A.E. (Junior Assistant Encouragement) Days/Events. Which consist of motivational, team-building fun activities at various venues.
Training and Orientation in Teaching, Child Development and Risk Management is offered 3 times per year and is a requirement of all Volunteers
Once a year our Volunteers are celebrated with an Appreciation Event especially for them.
